Land and Property Committee
The Committee bring the following matters to the Special Purposes Meeting of Cleir Eilean I on 7 October 2025
1 An Application dated 26 August 2025 from the Congregation of Grantown on Spey and Dulnain Bridge to instal 39 PV solar panels with associated solar batteries to Inverallan Church, Grant Road, Grantown on Spey PH26 3JG, for which planning consent and listed building consent has been obtained, all as detailed in the said Application, at a cost of £59,444.
2. An Application submitted to Presbytery on 25 September 2025 from the Congregation of Crown Church, Kingsmills Road, Inverness IV2 3JT to rebuild their present Makin electronic organ with modern digital technology into the present console in its present location to include replacement of the solenoid armatures all as detailed in the said Application and a Report prepared by Church Organ World at a cost of £55,000 plus valued added tax.
3. An Application submitted to Presbytery on 15 August 2025 by the Congregation of Ness Bank, Inverness, to effect substantial works of alteration, enhancement and improvements to Ness Bank Church, 1 Ness Bank, Inverness IV2 4SA to include, inter alia,
Enhanced riverside access to church and halls; compliant stair and new toilets in north west entrance; passenger lift to west transept; re-design of south end of sanctuary to include lift, café with servery, and redecoration of sanctuary; conversion of vestry, storeroom and stair to kitchen, store and accessible toilet – all with a view to enhancing Christian witness, welcome and hospitality to locals and tourists alike and to provide opportunities for Christian teaching and worship and to make the building more accessible to existing and new users. Externally the building will be more visible and attractive to passers by. The anticipated budgeted costs, including a contingency allowance, professional fees and valued added tax are presently put at £1,166,246 to be funded from own resources, including legacies, and a request for £340,000 from the Central Fabric Fund plus other applications to external grant funders.

Deliverance:
1. Presbytery receives the Report.
2. Presbytery grants approval to the Congregation of Grantown on Spey and Dulnain Bridge Church to instal 39 PV solar panels with associated batteries to Inverallan Church, Grant Road, Grantown on Spey PH26 3JG all as more fully specified in their Application dated 26 August 2025 at a cost of £59,444.
3. Presbytery grants approval to the Congregation of Crown Church, Kingsmills Road, Inverness IV2 3JT to rebuild their present Makin electronic organ with modern digital technology all as specified in their Application submitted to Presbytery on 25 September 2025 at a cost of £55,000, plus valued added tax.
4. In principle, Presbytery supports the Application submitted by the Congregation of Ness Bank Church, 1 Ness Bank, Inverness IV2 4SA subject, however, (i) to acceptance of a suitable Business Plan and (ii) to approval by The General Trustees.
