The Seafarers’ Charity is calling on organisations, communities, and individuals across the UK to honour the people behind the Merchant Navy Flag by flying the Red Ensign, whether physically or digitally, on Merchant Navy Day, Tuesday, 3 September.

It’s a fun thing to do and a collection can go a long way to helping men and women who have or are earning their living from the sea.  As an island nation we should be honouring and encouraging all those involved with the sea.
