Nairn Old Parish Church Angel release
By Amanda Anderson / 17th Jan 24
These beautiful Angels have now been shared far and wide...
Members of Nairn Old Parish church and their family and friends knitted 350 small angels in the run up to the beginning of Advent. They were handed in and attached to panels which were on display both inside the church and outside too. During Advent we ran a series of reflections on the theme of angels which gave folk an opportunity to explore the role of angels in the Bible as well as the messages they brought particularly in the context of the Christmas story.
Now that Christmas and Epiphany are past, we are getting the angels ready to go out into the community. They were available to members on Sunday 14th January along with a card which brought greetings from the congregation and a blessing for 2024. Around 30 people were involved in the knitting and the putting together of the panels but all those who come to church on Sunday took at least one to share with a friend or neighbour. The Interim Moderator will be taking them with her when she visits schools and care homes in the coming days. (Rev Linda Walker)
