Alasdair Macleod

Alasdair grew up in the Isle of Skye, and studied at Glasgow and Edinburgh Universities. He has previously worked in publishing and in ministry on the Isle of Lewis.
 
Alasdair has been the Minister of Easter Ross Peninsula Church of Scotland (covering the historic parishes of Tain, Fearn, Tarbat and Nigg) since August 2025, having previously served as Locum Minister since the formation of the charge in January 2024. He also has a longstanding interest in Church History, and obtained a PhD in the nineteenth-century Evangelicalism of the Highlands in 2019. He lectures on a part time basis with Highland Theological College UHI, where he teaches the undergraduate modules on the Protestant Reformation and on Scottish Church History, and supervises research students.
 
Alasdair was appointed Business Convener for Cleir Eilean I in 2026. In this role, he line manages and supports the Presbytery Clerk, and oversees the flow of Presbytery business between court meetings.
 
Alasdair has three children and a very energetic Labrador called Dustin!
