James Bissett

James was originally from Fife, having moved to Inverness in 2016 where he was ordained as an Ordained Local Minister to the Presbytery of Ross.  Prior to Ministry, James worked as a photographer, a Civil Servant and spent time after moving to the Highlands sorting out the archives of the Highlands and Islands Development Board.

James' first charge was at Contin linked with Fodderty and Strathpeffer where he filled in during their period of vacancy.  Following that, James worked as locum for Old High St Stephens and would see himself become their Interim Moderator and also complete a probation period in order that he may become a full time Minister.  James started as Presbytery clerk in February 2026.

James is chaplain to the Inverness Air Cadets where he also teaches principles of flight, robotics and sewing. He has completed a number of marathons, and is working up to the reverse London Marathon in aid of the Highland Hospice in April 2026.

James is married to Rev Susan Cord, and is owned by Sirius the dog.
